I previously had an editor who suddenly stopped working so I was nervous to try again. After finding you and instantly knowing your editing style was perfect for me that hesitation went away and after the first set of samples, I immediately felt sure and comfortable in our team.
I wanted to give more of myself and my time to my clients and to my family as well as add consistency to the editing process as well as my client experience. Whew. It's given me life back! I was desperately craving a better balance between my work and life, and post-processing weddings was a huge time suck plus something that doesn't really light me up - I love connecting with people and taking photographs, but I didn't become a photographer to be stuck behind a screen for long hours editing. I'd tried editing companies in the past and had never got consistency so I'd sort of given up on being able to outsource this part of my workflow. Until a mentor suggested trying a private editor - someone I could work one on one with to achieve consistent results.
When I first looked at private editors I was hesitant about the cost it would add to my business. After reaching out to Aurelie and then having a video call with her, I knew this was going to work. Aurelie answered all my questions, made the process so easy and was super organised. After that video call I knew a private editor was a cost that would be worth every dollar spent.
You make it easy! The set up, sending & receiving the catalogs, invoicing - it's just super efficient and consistent. Plus you're a lovely human and it always brightens my day when we correspond, even if it's just a quick email to tell me you've sent a catalog back. You're a true professional and I think coming from being a photographer you also know exactly what I'm looking for in an editor :-) I love that once I have done previews and a highlights blog for my couples, the catalog is off to Aurelie for editing and it's a weight off my shoulders. I wanted to work with someone I trusted, a real person, not a robot or AI. I wanted someone who understands what I do, how & why, who adapts to my style and with whom I don’t need to re-edit.
I had doubts whether the general idea of outsourcing would actually work and if I would find someone where I could say to myself "Ok, it's exactly the same edit, no one can tell if it’s me or someone else who edited the wedding.” But with Aurélie, it was quite obvious after our first call that she would be this person.
Working together was very simple, and fluid, we mutually adapted to each other’s way of working. Once the first 2-3 weddings were edited, we became a well-oiled machine. Aurélie demonstrated her proactive organisation when I needed it, but also flexibility when the wedding season was underway and I was a little behind with sending my catalogues.
Outsourcing with Aurélie allowed me to be much more drastic in my selections. I was also able to spend more time on my favourite images and therefore improved my overall editing and quality. It gave me the time to work on these images without the stress of knowing I still had hundreds of photos to edit. While delegating my post-processing didn't necessarily save me an enormous of time, it gave me a lot of mental freedom and removed a task that bored me. This has truly reignited my enjoyment of the retouching process.
I was also able to spend more time on other photo projects, marketing, etc, while knowing that my deadlines would be respected and that, in the end, I would have exactly the images I wanted.

This was my first time using Whisper & Sing and Aurelie did THE most amazing job on editing my photos for me.
I love to capture the magic but I am not a fan of the editing process and always used to end up with inconsistent editing.
